BURIED Premiere (written by RI native Chris Sparling
BURIED, the feature film written by Rhode Island native Chris Sparling and starring actor Ryan Reynolds (THE PROPOSAL, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE), will be released in Rhode Island theaters this Friday, October 15th.
BURIED tells the story of Paul Conroy (Reynolds), a civilian truck driver who is taken hostage in Iraq, buried alive, and left to coordinate his own ransom. The film, a suspense thriller, works as both a nail-biting exercise in claustrophobia and a chilling allegory for bureaucratic indifference. Remarkably, all 90-plus minutes of the film's running time takes place within the confines of the coffin-like box in which Paul is buried.
"A brilliantly twisted suspense thriller that would have made Alfred Hitchcock proud." -- Access Hollywood
" Rodrigo Cortes and writer Chris Sparling are ingenious in creating more plausible action than you would expect possible. 3 1/2 out of 4 stars." -- Roger Ebert
"Crazy-good thriller!" -- USA Today
"Claustrophobic, suspenseful, and just plain AWESOME!" -- Ain't It Cool News
"Mesmerizing" -- Jeffrey Lyons
BURIED is currently playing nationwide and in theaters around the world. Don't miss your chance to see the film during its Rhode Island opening this weekend!!
