While more and more people are interested in entering the game industry, many are reluctant to make their start in one of the large companies. Some are afraid that they'll get lost in the crowd, or that they'll be treated at first as little more than interns. In this talk I will describe my experiences joining EA as a software engineer after graduating from Brown. I will talk about making the transition from a university setting to a team of 100+ people (40+ engineers), and creating the next flagship title in one of the company's most important franchises. I will describe the various programs in place at EA Redwood Shores that are designed specifically to provide support and growth opportunities for recent college grads. I will also give a recent college graduate's perspective of some of the day-to-day, week-to-week, and month-to-month processes that we use at the Sims Label to coordinate a very large team working on an enormous project.

Jack,

Is this lecture open to the public? I couldn't find that detail in any of the links.

k00k, everything we put on the calendar is suppose to be open to the public - so I would be surprised if it's not.
