Cold Calling vs. Trusted Advisor -- what works?

We all hate cold calling...that awful moment (or, if the pundits are to be believed, 90 moments a day) where you pick up the phone, dial the prospect's number, only to either reach an answering machine or, worse yet, an evil, dragon-like gatekeeper who wants YOU for breakfast. Hundreds upon hundreds of calls later, you finally reach a REAL decision maker, who, after a 5-minute chat, tells you they're 'all set' for now. Doesn't cold-calling really suck?

Kendra Lee, noted advisor with hundreds of successful clients, a best-selling book, and an even better sense of humour has written a blog chock full of tidbits on how to make the sale WITHOUT cold calling, and if you MUST cold call, the right way to do it. We'll be discussing her approach during this month's meetup, both morning and evening sessions.

The morning session runs from 9-10:30 (or so...) and the evening session from 6:30-8 (or so...). We haven't finalized a place yet, but it'll be centrally located in Providence, and we'll have it chosen over the next few days.
