Announcing the 1st Pecha Kucha night in Providence! YAY. Pecha Kucha is a monthly format for sharing ideas, in which presenters are allotted 20 PowerPoint slides and 20 seconds per slide. Put simply: 6 minutes and 40 seconds of PowerPoint performance art. It began in Tokyo in 2003, has since spread to 166 cities worldwide, and now it's landing in Providence.

And WE NEED PRESENTERS. Understandably you're shy, but channel that courage from within, and email Stephanie (misstephanie.gerson@gmail.com) to announce your intent. The theme for March is: beginnings.

Shmoozing at 7p, presentations at 8p, and shmoozing throughout.

Pecha Kucha is a prime opportunity to flaunt your latest project, share your latest ideas, exchange business cards, cross-pollinate, network, etc. etc. - come on info-techies and digital media folks, please step up!  I'm still waiting for my first tech-oriented presenter....

Hey Stephanie, I'm up for presenting. I'd like to come talk about Betaspring, the seed venture platform for young techpreneurs that we are launching this spring, though there are other more technical things (Deep Web, Mashable City) that I could talk about as well.

Thanks for taking this on !
