Electronic Recycling Day
![]()
Most electronic products used in the workplace and homes contain hazardous substances such as lead and mercury. When these products reach the end of their useful lives or become obsolete, some are considered hazardous waste. Hazardous waste may not be discarded in the regular trash! A great option for disposal of this waste is to bring these items to our collection day and help the environment while raising money for a worthy cause!
First Lutheran Church in conjunction with Office Recycling Solutions and Bridge Technical Solutions will host a computer and electronics collection and document shredding event on Saturday, May 30th to benefit First Lutheran. A minimum 20 cents per pound will be collected for all electronic items, but the organization will charge a higher fee for disposal of certain items such as TVs and air conditioners. Document shredding will be at $0.35 per pound. This simple action will keep electronics out of the regular trash, cut communities’ dumping costs and raise money for a good cause!
