The agenda for this meeting will focus on education issues related to science and technology.  Deborah Gist, Commissioner of the Rhode Island Department of Education, will address the Council and will be joined by Jean Slattery, Senior Associate for Science at Achieve, Inc.  Dr. Slattery will share her perspective on the development of national science standards and their impact in the areas of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines.
