Bionica was established in 2005. Their product, a hearing aid based on leading edge technology in microprocessors and sound transmission, will target a 30 million person market -- 25 million of which would benefit from aid but choose not to put up with currently available conventional devices.

Bionica is funded by angel investors and the Slater Technology Fund of Rhode Island.
