Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)

The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) is home to 2,200 students and 750 faculty, staff and curators. Founded in 1877, RISD is now considered one of the world's top multi-disciplinary design schools.
Located in close proximity to Brown University, RISD and Brown offer joint courses and the option to cross-register between schools. Recently, a dual-degree program was created.
RISD degree programs include an undergraduate Film/Animation/Video major and a graduate Digital+Media program.
The RISD Museum is the 20th largest museum in the U.S. with a collection of 80,000 works of art. The RISD Museum sponsors a variety of lectures, gallery talks and other events for the community.
Continuing Education's many offerings include

- corporate training options
- one-day intensive workshops in various computer media
Courses can be taken for personal or professional enrichment or as part of RISD's certificate programs. Among the certifications available:
RISD, in a joint venture with Bryant University, established the Center for Design & Business (CDB) in 1997. RISD also developed the Design + Business Entrepreneurship Center, an incubator space in downtown Providence opened in 2002 and managed by the CDB.
RISD opened the Center for Integrative Technologies (CIT) on Weybosset St. in fall 2002 to bring together the graduate and continuing education programs as well as the Design + Business Entrepreneurship Center.
