Newschoolyard is an open-source evolution of Schoolyard, Inc., providers of web-based communications systems for independent schools. Founded in 1995, Schoolyard has worked with over 140 schools in the US and abroad. The company retired its proprietary ColdFusion system in 2007 and relaunched in February of 2010 with a new system built on the open source Drupal platform. Our open source system offers schools comprehensive content management and communication tools at a fraction of the cost of proprietary systems, elegantly designed for optimal user experience.
