Health insurance & start-ups
Howdy all. So, I'm working on a story for PBN about health insurance and start-up businesses -- looking at whether the cost of health coverage makes purchasing it prohibitive for new companies when they're still in early days. Since a lot of you have start-up experience, I was hoping some of you could talk with me about what you did for health care when you were first starting up -- whether it was your own company or working for somebody else.
Were you offered insurance? If not, did you purchase it on your own or just go with out? Were you worried about not having it, or just saw that as the price of admission for being on the ground floor of a new firm? How long did it take before you were offered health insurance (if you were)?
Any and all feedback is appreciated. My deadline is coming right up, so if you can share a story, please drop me a line at nesi@pbn.com as soon as possible. And thanks!
