Technology Can Not Only Help Gov't But Help in Delivering Better Customer Service for the Consumer (i.e., All of Us)

Didn't know if anyone caught Ed Mazze's piece in the Providence Journal's editorial section, Customer manifesto for public employees.

In it he raises several good points and highlights the role of technology:

"Know when to use technology. Technology improves service. Technology should be configured to let employees access a complete database and provide information quickly and accurately."

RI technology companies certainly have a role to play in advancing customer service provided within our public sector environment.

If you have technology you think can help....approach a Mayor, town/city council member, gov't agency official, etc.

My goal this year has been to advocate and aid the introduction of (modern) online services for the Town of South Kingstown. It is not an easy endevor but one worth perusing. I have been chronically my efforts at http://southkingstownrinow.blo....

Great site, Andrew - this is a real public service. Other towns should be so lucky to have such an advocate.

It would be amazing to see a state-wide network of such sites that learn from and support one another's efforts.
