Email Services
Posted on February 5th, 2009, by Tom Flanagan
Hello,
My office currently hosts email in-house on a old Dell server. We have been experiencing many issues of late and have maxed out our resources (Bandwidth, Hardware and Software).
We are a Real Estate company with 5 Offices statewide, with roughly 200 user accounts. We need POP, IMAP and Mobile Device support.
I'd love to hear any feed back or possible solutions anyone may have.
Thanks!
-Tom

Submitted on February 5th, 2009 - 6:33pm linkIf I could butt in here and suggest that Google's Mobile Device support is limited and, depending on purpose, 200 can be a large number if one is looking for a truly collaborative environment, although they'll get into the mid-market as well. We're pretty familiar with GA, as we're one of their original resellers and generally only recommend it at the entrepreneurial and microbiz (<20) level.
There are other excellent, and more scaleable solutions out there, particularly for email and security, which is and should be a major concern when leveraging the cloud...and, when priced per user, are comparably priced.

I will follow-up with you directly but our company, www.rhodeone.com, is based here in RI and provides hosted Exchange 2007, SharePoint (WSS and MOSS), and OCS. Mobile device support (real time email, calendar, and contacts) is free for Windows Mobile and iPhones. There is an additional charge for Blackberry but that is also real time.
Take Care,
-Rick

Sorry for the delay in response. I've been so wrapped up with this Mail Server issue. Google Apps is certianly a option that I have looked into. I have to address converting existing email and Mobile Devices.
Jim - I'd love to learn more about alternative solutions. Please feel free to contact me.
Rick - I'd also like to learn more about your company. Please feel free to contact me as well.
Thanks Guys!
