Hi All, I wanted to share information on a new CERT team being coordinated in Providence. Free Training is to be provided as well. To all Providence Residents Become a member of your neighborhood COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT). Learn how to help in the time of need. Learn to Help yourself, your family and your community. FREE TRAINING PROVIDED! Weekly Evening Classes Starting Soon. Topics include basic first-aid, light search & rescue and many other topics. Submitted on April 1st, 2008 - 12:10pm linkHey, thanks for posting this! The classes are Tuesday nights from 7-9 at the Public Safety Complex. Tonight is the second class (I just found out about this today, here) but the guy I spoke to on the phone said they would catch people up.
It sounds like they are doing the training course and then asking looking for people who would like to go further and become a part of a volunteer infrastructure. I'll post a follow up after tonight's class.
