The Aptus Collaborative is currently seeking candidates for internship positions in our Wayland Square office. These positions will be project-based, rather than task-oriented. You'll be given a substantial project, guidelines for completion and plenty of support; but you will be expected to take initiative and see the project through to its conclusion.

Projects currently exist in the areas of entrepreneurship/start-ups, education reform, information visualization, and Government 2.0 initiatives.

Project completion will include some or all of the following

• Research - market analysis, demographic, legislative, innovation
• Writing - blog posts, manifestos, business plans, white papers
• Organizing - people, ideas, outcomes
• Launching - websites, organizations, initiatives, companies

• Create and launch new technology-enabled products, services, or businesses

• Build global partnerships with external partners

• Engage customers, employees and partners in a variety of collaborative innovation processes

We're also very active in the Providence startup community and are involved in several National and Rhode Island-based civic engagement projects.

Looking for someone who:

• Is comfortable working on the Macintosh platform and using web-based collaboration tools
• Has a keen interest in thinking differently about solving problems
• Can take a rough sketch of an idea and transform it into something real
• Has a highly tuned sense of humor
• Is interested in exploring the ability of technology and design to effect change

Requires 10 to 20 hrs a week. This is not a paid position but we can work with your school to give you academic credit. These high profile projects offer experiential learning opportunities that will stand out on any resume.
