Join the Kidoinfo team and have an opportunity to play a key-role in the day-to-day running and promotion of Kidoinfo.com, a popular local web site dedicated to serving Rhode Island's parenting community.

Flexible hours. Work primarily from home with occasional in person
meetings. Most communication will be done via phone or email. Time
commitment is 6 – 10 hours a week depending on project commitments.

Responsibilities will include some or all of the following:
• online research & fact-checking
• assisting in promoting and marketing website
• communications mainly by email and phone
• writing basic copy
• maintaining the community calendar
• creating the weekly Newsletter
• maintaining the community directory
• assisting the publisher with the website's objectives

Looking for someone who is:
• web savvy - familiarity with the blogosphere, discussion boards, etc.
• an excellent writer
• super organized and detail-oriented
• motivated, loves kids, and enjoys talking to others (on the phone,
online or in person)
• knows the area (Rhode Island and beyond)
• a flexible, congenial, team player
• knowing HTML, CSS, Constant Contact, and MS Word is a plus but not a
requirement

Kidoinfo.com has quickly become the go-to site for parents
in the Rhode Island area and beyond. This central site creates a community
for parents to connect to other parents on the message board, find family
friendly events on the calendar and "Weekend Picks" newsletter, search
for schools, classes and more in the resource directory and read the
Kidoinfo bog updated daily with book reviews, craft activities, education,
food, parenting advice, product reviews and more. Our growing list of
contributors includes the Providence Children's Museum, the RISD Museum,
the Audubon Society, storyteller, a pediatrician, a professional doula, and
a number of parents. Kidoinfo enjoys a national and international
readership, beyond its niche geographical audience and was awarded Best
website about kids in 2007 by Rhode Island Monthly magazine.
