Description
SophiaThink Social Media Research Internship – summer 2010
Location: Providence, RI
Availability: June – August (flexible start date)
Compensation: A great learning experience
Company overview:
SophiaThink is a consulting firm that (among many other things) advises businesses on the best ways to integrate social media tools into their business strategies. We also provide executive coaching to businesses undergoing big change. We launched our company 7 months ago and are currently looking for an interesting, smart, hardworking problem solver to join us for the summer. This is a start up so things change constantly. If you seek us out, be prepared to work hard, be challenged and contribute daily. And don’t apply unless you have a sense of humor and a sense of purpose.
Who are we?
We are business people intrigued by technology who see the growing social networking “economy” as a means to solve business problems. We are type “A” personalities who like working with people who can think for themselves, but help us with our mission. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in social media as a serious business tool and for someone who likes to contribute. We like ideas and we like vitality.
Job responsibilities:
Everything you can imagine and a few things you can’t…
· Market, business and conference/speaking research
· Blog site development
· PowerPoint, marketing material design and social media maintenance
· Administrative stuff (yes, this means boring stuff)
· Data entry (bring your iPod for this one)
· And anything else that needs doing (be prepared, that will change from day to day)
Qualifications:
· Smarts and ability to brainstorm problems – we want someone who has interesting things to say
· Design esthetic (this means a good eye and excellent taste)
· Organizing & writing skills
· Computer/tech savvy – All Office suite applications, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Google docs, Photoshop
· Reliable transport
· Tireless optimist who is endlessly flexible (this means you smile when a plan changes)
