The Providence Journal, the daily newspaper serving the metropolitan area of Providence, Rhode Island is seeking an Applications Developer.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- A Bachelor's in Information Technology or a related field; will consider experience in lieu of education.
- At least 5 years experience in Internet Web development positions.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in in various web-oriented/interactive technologies with and emphasis in HTML, XML, JavaScript, Perl, PHP and CSS.
- Solid knowledge of the Web Services model a plus.
- Demonstrated experience programming with relational database technologies.
- Possess a solid understanding of the general architecture (web server/app server/data server) of web applications.
- Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills in order to effectively partner with the technologies and business communities.
