Director of Information Technology

US SAILING, the National Governing Body for Sailing, seeks a Director of IT with management, technology and development skills. The Director is primarily responsible for the budget, design, implementation and rollout of major web and integration projects. The Director will work with onsite Network Administration staff to maintain server uptimes and network health, an onsite and offsite Web Development Team and an onsite and offsite Application and Database Team. The Director is responsible for weekly planning and outcome meetings with the other Department Directors and monthly Executive Director reports. The Director is also responsible for semi-annual reports to the Board.

The Director’s position is a challenging mix of management and active development. The position can be rewarding and fulfilling as projects directly impact worldwide sport. The work environment is casual and friendly. Late hours are necessary for project rollouts, some break/fix support and during major events. Some travel is expected for semi-annual meetings. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Qualifications

·         Experience in managing a small diverse staff (both paid and volunteer) and reporting to C-level management

·         Proven ability to communicate with staff and volunteers on a professional level

·         Track record in functioning successfully in a multi-faceted work environment under deadline

·         Proven ability to prioritize and address time-critical issues

·         Close attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

·         In-depth knowledge of technology specifically

-          Microsoft-based servers and server software

-          ASP and ASPx web applications

-          C# and VB programming concepts and best practices

·         Experience developing, managing and planning custom CRM databases

Responsibilities

·         Manage the web development department

·         Oversee network administration

·         Coordinate the schedule and release of various projects and programs

·         Evaluate 3^rd party applications and partnership/integration opportunities

·         Departmental budgeting and resource allocation

·         Develop long-term strategy for the department and the organization

·         Report to the Executive Director and Board of Directors
