Description
Swipely turns purchases into conversations (see video at swipely.com). We are well funded, backed by Silicon Valley's top investors, the same folks behind Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Skype, Last.fm, Zynga, and others. Our very talented team includes veterans of Microsoft, Tellme, eBay, Netscape, and alums of Brown and MIT. We face tough technical challenges in areas of security, scalability, geolocation, search, mobile, and more. We're using ruby/rails, mysql, mongo, EC2, and other interesting tools and technology. Swipely's founder previously co-founded Tellme, which became part of Microsoft in their largest-ever acquisition of a private company. Our goal with Swipely is to go after an even bigger opportunity: social commerce, adding value to every transaction.
We are looking for someone who loves developing elegant web interfaces. You should be excited about UX and interface design, an expert in writing Javascript, HTML/CSS, and familiar with back-end templating of views in RoR or PHP. You will work with our visual design team, platform engineers and product leadership to design, prototype and implement new features, and make existing features easier to use. You are a jQuery ninja, and you can make JavaScript routines scream in Webkit or Gecko. You should be comfortable working in an agile development environment and have experience with tools like Git and source code management processes. This role sits at the intersection of design and development -- a fanatical focus on making users happy is key to success.
