Description
The web developer works directly with the project manager, art director, user experience architect and technical architect to render and implement applications using visual designs generated by the design team. You will also be required to do basic maintenance to existing sites, adding to, or modifying existing applications and building new ones that fit within the existing sites constraints. Technical experience and understanding of basic programming and development is required. Please note that this is not a design position – our ideal candidate is skilled in PHP, HTML, CSS, javascript.

This is not a tele-commute position. You must be available to work during business hours at our Providence office. If you do not live locally and can not do that, please do not apply.

You are required to have 2-3 years of experience in PHP

This is a part time position, with the potential to go full time. Expect anywhere from 15-35 hours a week. You must be available to work those hours during normal business hours and preferably in our offices in Providence. Occasional telecommuting will be permitted. Do not apply if you can not be in Providence on a regular basis.

You must have the following skills:
• PHP
• HTML
• Javscript
• CSS
• MySQL
• Relational Databases
• Eager to learn new technologies
• Creative and energetic approach to tackling tough, complex problems.

It would be nice if you also had one or all of the following:
• Networking and infrastructure
• SEO
• JAVA
• Ajax
• Joomla and/or Drupal
• Magento
• Integrating server-side logic (ASP.NET Controls, Classic ASP) into markup, and vice-versa.
• Source control utilities.
• XSL

Primary Responsibilities

• Translate wireframes and PSDs into launch-ready, valid PHP code that creates working applications
• Work closely with the rest of the team to develop compelling and easy to use interfaces.
• Work to build and maintain best in class websites and applications
• Contribute to exploring technical boundaries and bringing new paths and solutions to a best practice fundraising application.
