Gurnet Consulting is currently hiring proven Program and Project Managers to ensure successful delivery of our engagements.

The Senior Consultant: Program and Project Management position requires sufficient expertise in leading large delivery teams in traditional and distributed delivery models (domestic and offshore).

The Sr. Consultant manages large scale projects or multifaceted programs (3+ medium to small scale initiatives) to an acceptable level of risk by balancing scope, time, cost and quality. Employs Gurnet’s methodologies to consistently meet client expectations (defined and implied), promote individual development and ensure high performance. He/she fosters an environment that emphasizes innovation, communication, and collaboration. He/she uses problem solving skills, business skills, solid verbal and written communication skills, excellent relationship building skills, as well as strong leadership and team management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

PLANNING: Structures and manages integrated, multi-track projects and/or programs of multiple projects. Learns and applies Gurnet’s methodologies to meet project and program objectives and client business drivers. Leads the development and tracking of integrated project plans. Establishes and maintains project and/or program communications. Oversees project estimations and staffing. Oversees the development of project deliverables. Establishes and maintains processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle. Identifies and manages project and/or program issues. Sets project quality and performance standards. Assesses and manages risk within, and across, multiple projects. Maintains project tracking and information systems.

MANAGEMENT: Identifies, comprehends, and quantifies program/project objectives and success criteria. Assists in project team development. Develops program/project team organization structure to ensure maximum performance. Ensures key project and program roles and responsibilities are defined, communicated and understood. Ensures a positive, collaborative work environment for the team. Directly supervises the work of team members. Mentors and coaches project team members, as appropriate. Manages third-party partner and/or vendor relationships, when applicable.

CLIENT RELATIONS: Responsible for ongoing client satisfaction. Manages peer-level client relationships. Develops relationships with, and ensures the appropriate participation of, key client stakeholders and client executives. Provides day-to-day project contact for the client.

DESIRED SKILLS:

+ At least 7 years work experience
+ At least 5 years IT project management experience in the consulting services industry.
+ 1-3 years experience in a distributed delivery environment (combination of onsite and offsite teams)
+ 1-3 years of client management experience with accountability for senior client relationships
+ Experienced in full project lifecycles from business development to final delivery
+ Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (preferably in an integrated program)
+ Budget responsibilities in excess of $1M
+ Accountability for engagement profitability preferred
+ Led teams with multiple discipline representation (especially business process, technology, and change management)
+ Direct managerial responsibility for 5 or more professionals
+ Exposure and/or formal training in structured project management and delivery methods (example: PMBOK, SixSigma, RUP, TQM, CMM, COBIT, ITIL, or proprietary)
+ Experience with distributed, enterprise solutions
+ Experience with SDLC, Package Software deployment (ERP, CRM, etc), Systems Integration, and / or Functional or Tactical Outsourcing.
+ Must have excellent professional writing skills (will be asked to provide examples)
+ PM Certification and/or equivalent experience preferred.
+ MBA is desired.
