Programmer / Software Engineer – Web Applications

Providence, RI web site and web application design and development company in business since 1999 is seeking candidates for a programming / software engineering project. This position is a temporary, full-time position beginning as soon as possible and continuing through December '07. There is a strong possibility that this position could become permanent after that time. This project involves developing a web application that is being funded by a client. However, we ultimately plan to launch this application as part of a new company and offer it to many more business clients. This could provide an unlimited growth opportunity for the right candidate.

In addition to possessing a positive, can-do attitude and being self-motivated, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

--minimum 5 years experience with LAMP (Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP) development

--proficiency in writing modular object-oriented code in PHP 5

--proficiency in SQL and database architecture

--experience with AJAX, JSON and web 2.0 technologies

--strong attention to detail

--excellent organization and communication skills (both verbal and written)

--ability to work collaboratively
