Job description

The primary objective of this role is to create the best possible user experience for websites, internet-based applications and interactive modules. The successful candidate will be able to consistently create well-balanced strategic visions and possess the tactical knowledge and skill required to assist and lead others in their team to implement their ideas.

Responsibilities

· Devising solutions that balance user goals and business goals while fitting within the constraints of brand, time, budget, and technology

· Innovating ways to solve challenging business and user experience problems

· Developing user, functional and business specifications

· Conceptualize and designing robust, yet easy-to-use interfaces

· Creating optimal information architectures, scalable taxonomies and flexible metadata tagging systems

· Specifying UX blueprints that provide the foundation for proposed solutions

· Utilizing UCD best practices such as personas, use case scenarios, user models, web analytics, process and work flows, wireframes, design prototypes, interaction models, and functional design specifications

· Planning, coordinating and conducting user research, participatory design and usability testing sessions

· Effectively synthesize and communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and design rationales

· Staying abreast of emerging trends and technologies

· Participating in communities of practice, sharing knowledge and collaborating with peers

· Working with an interdisciplinary team that includes designers, project managers, software architects, client partners, marketing professionals, and technical leadership.

· Directing team members on all aspects of UX design implementation

 

Experience/Skill Requirements

· 5+ years in-depth experience with the following skills: information architecture and user-centered design processes, techniques, and tools; writing; interactive design; interface design; and usability

· Ability to clearly articulate the techniques and approaches you have used in the past

· Familiar with analyzing and modeling user workflows, and incorporating that information into application design

· Knowledge of the opportunities and limitations of web based application development, while staying abreast of shifts in industry standards and customer expectations

· Strong knowledge of XHTML, and the capabilities of Web browsers across multiple platforms and technologies

· Ability to be flexible and adapt to almost any situation

· Customer focused with strong communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge of SEO and SEM

· Understanding of content management systems and their capabilities is also a plus

Job qualifications

· Five to seven years of user interface design experience.

· Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

· Strong knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to websites and web-based applications.

· Proficiency with Visio and Dreamweaver

· Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of web technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, and Flash.

· Experience with web 2.0 and rich Internet concepts and delivery methodologies
