The Web Developer will manage and maintain existing database driven web applications as well as developing new cutting edge applications according to company priorities. Solicit information from internal clients and develop project plans and technical documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
30% Creating and maintaining database driven web-based applications - You will be required to bring new application from the first stages of concept and design to development and deployment. You will also be required to maintain existing applications.
15% Updating and maintaining corporate web site(s) - You will be expected to be able to perform general maintenance for our intranets, extranets, and internet web sites.
25% Resolving site and application bugs - It will be necessary to quickly locate, replicate, and resolve any bugs reported for web sites or applications.
30% Writing user and technical documentation - You will need to be capable of clearly documenting functional and design specification for an application using industry standards such as UML.
EDUCATION:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE:
At least 2+ years working experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 1—REQUIRED:
* Experienced using MS SQL 2000, ColdFusion or .NET, UML, JavaScript/AJAX, and CSS/DHTML
* Ability to design, document, and manage web applications.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be team player, able to work independently (manage own work effectively, show initiative, able to focus and prioritize) but seek assistance readily when needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 2—DESIRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
* Knowledge in XML, Java, OOP concepts, RIA, and Web Services a plus
TRAVEL:
2 times a year
