PURVIS wins $2.3M contract to upgrade FDNY call boxes

Modernization plan updates electronics while retaining traditional exterior

Purvis Systems Inc., a provider of information technology systems and services to the public safety, emergency management and defense industries, has been awarded a $2.3 million contract to modernize the New York City Fire Department’s citywide fire and police call-box system...

...The new systems design includes redundant modular components to minimize downtime and repair time, and incorporates off-the-shelf and digital signal processing technologies to provide cost-effective filtering and signal conditioning, the company said. The production version will include a face plate, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant fire and police button flaps, a speaker and microphone, and electronics compatible with both legacy and future ERS systems.
