APC, of West Kingston, a producer of integrated critical power and cooling services, has partnered with Sun Microsystems to design a portion of that company’s new energy-efficient data center in Santa Clara, Calif. Commissioned as part of Sun’s Eco Innovation Initative, the rack-based data center uses a flexible, scalable APC cooling system that enables Sun to effectively reduce the cost and environmental impact of maintaining its high-density information technology systems.
