R.I. Quality Institute awarded $100,000 by R.I. Foundation

Grant to support work on sharing health information

The Rhode Island Foundation has awarded a $100,000 “community impact” grant to the Rhode Island Quality Institute to support the institute’s work in promoting collaborations among providers to improve quality and share health information.

The nonprofit institute, which involves health care providers, health insurers, consumers, business, academia, government, and other key leaders within the health care community, was set up in 2001 and is best known for its role in developing an electronic health information exchange in partnership with the state and with providers.
