Cherrystone Angel Group working with other angel groups, rivaling small-fund VCs

With venture capital groups doing less early stage seed funding, angel groups are working together to fill the gap

...more and more angel groups -- which themselves are composed of wealthy individuals and former entrepreneurs who once invested on their own -- are now joining forces to form "angel group syndicates" whose total investments rival those made by established small-fund venture capital groups.

"The VCs pulled back and created this gap in capital, and all of a sudden the angels had to carry companies a lot farther than they (previously) did."
