KVH collects $1.4M military navigation deal

Middletown company sells components and upgrades to its precision navigation systems

Rhode Island's KVH Industries Inc. reports it has landed $1.4 million in contracts from an unnamed defense contractor.

Under the two contracts, KVH would supply components and upgrades for KVH's vehicles navigation systems used on U.S. military combat vehicles. KVH said it plans to begin shipping the components during the first quarter of 2008.

KVH's TACNAV military vehicle navigation systems is designed to provide precision navigation for vehicle drivers, crews and commanders. The system can also help relay information among soldiers inside the vehicle, soldiers on the battlefield and military commanders, according to the company. The navigation systems are already being used on U.S. and allied vehicles in Iraq...
