Providence's city government and an arts collective are planning to build a fabrication lab where would-be inventors can experiment.

The laboratory will be similar to several labs associated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including one in Boston. The Providence branch will be based out of AS220, an arts and technology collaborative that already hosts a public technology workshop.
