KVH wins $2.6M torpedo tech order from Navy

Guidance system is fiber optic, gyro-based, and includes three accelerometers

The Navy has ordered TG-6000 inertial measurement units from Middletown, R.I.-based KVH for use in the MK54 torpedoes. This is the first of three options from a contract originally signed in September 2005, which has a potential value of more than $15.8 million. Officials say shipments for this option will extend into 2008.
