Digication nears $1M mark

Publicly launched in 2006, Digication mined a network of support for female entrepreneurs

The software company, Digication, that Rhode Island School of Design teacher Kelly Driscoll co-founded, initially began as a services company, taking on large-scale software projects for local companies.

When the digital education software that Driscoll had developed in the classroom spread to other departments and then to other schools, Digication took a new focus and Driscoll sought and found a network of support in the Make Mine a $Million Business program.

The Make Mine a $Million Business is a program of Count Me In for Women's Economic Independence and the OPEN credit line program from American Express. The program provides a combination of money, mentoring, marketing and technology tools aimed at helping women entrepreneurs grow their businesses to the first million-dollar mark.

Since its launch in 2006, more than 15,000 women entrepreneurs have joined the network to reach their million-dollar revenue goal by 2010.

As for Driscoll, she still teaches at the Rhode Island School of Design, and now Bryant University. Digication, she said, is very close to its million dollar mark.
