More than 400 take part in LEGO event at Roger Williams University

More than 400 elementary and middle school children tackled robotics and climate change with LEGOs Saturday at the FIRST LEGO League Rhode Island Championship event. Forty-five teams in Rhode Island created robots for the tournament to compete in matches that solve missions on a game board that simulates real-life climate issues.

“No School Foster-Glocester,” a team of children from Foster, won the Champion’s Award for receiving the highest cumulative score at the competition, which earns the opportunity to compete against 80 teams from 24 countries at the upcoming FIRST LEGO League World Festival.
