Work force training grants available from board
Businesses have until Feb. 6 to submit proposals to receive up to $50,000 in work force training grants from the Governor’s Workforce Board of Rhode Island.
This year the state has set aside up to $2 million for the initiative, known as the 2009 Comprehensive Workforce Training Grant Program. Employers will be reimbursed for 50 percent of the cost of training activities...
...The deadline for all proposals is Feb. 6. Grant award winners will be announced in March.
Separately, Tech Collective is reminding companies that information technology-training programs are available at no cost through the Workforce Board’s Industry Skills Development Initiative (ISDI) grants.
The grants are not limited to IT companies – any employer with an IT staff is eligible to receive training funds.
