Source: Providence Journal, February 5th, 2009 Added on February 5th, 2009 at 11:55 am, by Matt MikulaHasbro Inc., of Pawtucket, has been selected by The Jim Henson Co., of Los Angeles, to be the master toy and game licensee for its Sid the Science Kid property, which is an animated television series airing daily on PBS using comedy to promote exploration, discovery and science readiness among preschoolers. The four-year license grants Hasbro the right to introduce an array of toys and games slated to debut at retail stores in the fall. Melissa Segal, senior vice president of global consumer products for The Jim Henson Co., said, “We are confident that Hasbro’s Playskool brand will bring toys to our audience in a creative and meaningful way that will celebrate and expand Sid’s world.” The Jim Henson Co. is recognized worldwide as an innovator in puppetry, animatronics and digital animation and is best known as creator of the Muppets.
