Full Story: Providence's Glassman wins prestigious Writer's Guild award Source: RI Film & TV Office Press Release, February 10th, 2009 Added on February 10th, 2009 at 12:04 pm, by Matt MikulaThe Rhode Island Film & Television Office is pleased to announce that Gary Glassman, Founder of Providence Pictures, won the prestigious Writer's Guild of America Award for his teleplay of "Secrets of the Parthenon" in the Documentary catagory. The show is part of the NOVA series and aired on PBS.
"I applaud the Writer's Guild of America for recognizing the outstanding work of Rhode Island's own Gary Glassman and his wonderful team at Providence Pictures. This example of excellence in film writing proves what is possible when the state supports and nutures our homegrown talent. "Secrets of the Parthenon" participated in the Motion Picture Tax Incentive program and, as a result, Gary Glassman's mastery is centerstage. He is is truly one of the Ocean State's shining stars.", said Steven Feinberg, Executive Director of the Rhode Island Film & TV Office.
