Astro-Med predicts lower 4Q revenue

Specialty electronics manufacturer Astro-Med Inc. (Nasdaq: ALOT) today predicted its fourth-quarter and full-year revenue will decline compared with the record sales it recorded in fiscal 2008.

The company now expects to report full-FY 2009 revenue of about $71.78 million, “a nominal change” of 0.81 percent from the preceding year’s high of $72.37 million. (READ MORE) Earnings per diluted share are expected to fall to 38 to 40 cents, a decline of 33.33 to 29.82 percent from the 57 cents it recorded in FY 2008.

“The global recession adversely affected Astro-Med’s operations during the second half of fiscal 2009,” said CEO Albert W. Ondis. “The effects of this economic slowdown were particularly unfavorable during the fourth quarter.”
