VisitRhodeIsland.com, a Web site for tourism promotion maintained by the R.I. Tourism Division, was recently named the third-best state government Web site for tourists in the United States.

Build Internet!, a blog that covers Web design, development and business, said Rhode Island’s tourism site is one of “the finest of the bunch.”

VisitRhodeIsland.com placed third on the Build Internet! list, behind top-ranked Ohio and second-ranked Utah. Neighboring Massachusetts’ Web site, MassVacation.com, was ranked No. 19. The other New England sites that made the cut were New Hampshire’s (No. 5) and Maine (No. 10).

VisitRhodeIsland.com was designed by Brave River Solutions, a Warwick-based technology company that has had a contract to manage the site for just under two years. •
