Full Story: Seeking economic stimulus Source: Providence Business News, February 28th, 2009 Author: Denise Perreault Added on March 9th, 2009 at 9:36 am, by Matt MikulaState lawmakers are reviewing the federal economic stimulus package to see if Rhode Island still needs its own $200 million stimulus effort to energize the state’s small-business community.
House Finance Committee members are reviewing the state’s proposal and “what effects the federal stimulus package may have on this, to see if there is anything that may overlap or provide some help” to Rhode Island small businesses, according to Larry Berman, spokesman for House Speaker William J. Murphy. “Nothing has been decided yet,” he said last week.
