Rhode Island Business Plan Competition Nets 57 Business Proposals; 12 Semi-finalists Chosen

Fifty-seven active and aspiring entrepreneurs from Rhode Island and 11 other states submitted plans to the 2009 Rhode Island Business Plan Competition, and 12 were selected as semi-finalists in the annual competition, the only one of its kind in New England, it was announced today.
Entrepreneurs contending for the $130,000 in cash and in-kind prizes submitted proposals that spanned a wide range of businesses – from medical devices and recycling to arbitration and micro-finance.
