Researchers at the University of Rhode Island say they have come up with a better method of spotting Internet campaigns designed to deceive consumers into thinking that a product or service is better or worse than it actually is.

Their system is designed to help Web sites that invite visitors to rate the quality of just about everything, from hotels and restaurants to books and movies.
