APC by Schneider Electric recently received an environmental award presented jointly by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Uptime Institute, a research and advocacy group that promotes efficiency and reliability in IT systems and data centers.

The two organizations honored APC with a 2009 Green Enterprise IT Award in the category of Energy Efficient Products. The award was given for APC’s line of InRow cooling products, which include active response controls and integrated thermal containment to reduce energy use. APC introduced an additional line of the devices, InRow SC Systems, for network closets and server rooms last month.
