Rite-Solutions of Middletown can follow school buses, and students

If a public-school student in Gwinnett County, Ga., fails to get on the right school bus, the school system will know about it immediately. If a bus is running late, or speeding, or off its route, they’ll know about that, too. They’ll find out through a sophisticated tracking system, called Rite Track, devised by a Rhode Island company, Rite-Solutions Inc., of Middletown.

Each bus will be equipped with a global-positioning system and wireless transmitter that will send its position and speed in real time to a command center. Each child riding in the bus system will be equipped with a credit card-size tag that can be read by a radio-frequency device on the bus, so the school system knows exactly who’s riding on every vehicle.
