Governor Carcieri has taken his proposals for state tax reform directly to the people by posting a video online.

In the video, Carcieri outlines his proposals, which include a phase-out of the corporate income tax and a reduction in individual income-tax rates. He also tells viewers why he thinks the tax cuts are needed, and urges voters to contact the General Assembly to pass the plans.

In a statement explaining why he chose to make the video, the governor said, “More and more individuals get their news from the Web, where it is unfiltered and unedited.”
