Cox Communications Inc. announced last week that it is now making its new Cox DOCSIS 3.0 “Ultimate Internet” broadband Internet package available to Rhode Island residential customers.

The new offering from Cox allows users to download data at a speed of 50 megabits per second (Mbps) and upload at 5 Mbps. Cox says the new technology will make activities such as online gaming, media downloading, video streaming, and file transferring faster and more convenient for customers.
