Contrary to popular belief, radio-frequency identification (RFID) delivers a strong return on investment in a number of key areas of supply-chain performance, according to a new study by Bryant University researchers.

John K. Visich, associate professor of management, and Suhong Li, associate professor of computer information systems, published their findings in a paper, “Empirical Evidence of RFID Impacts on Supply Chain Performance,” in the December issue of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management.
