Specialty-electronics manufacturer Astro-Med Inc. has purchased a North Carolina printing company as the first step in a three-year expansion plan the company is implementing.

Astro-Med said it signed a deal this week to buy Asheboro, N.C.-based Label Line Ltd., a manufacturer of labels and tags. Financial terms were not disclosed.
