KVH Industries Inc. said last week it has received a new $6.4 million order for its TG-6000 inertial measurement unit, which is based on the company’s fiber-optic gyro technology, for use by the U.S. Navy in MK54 torpedoes.

KVH said shipments for the order are expected to begin during the first half of 2010 and continue into 2011. The buyer was not disclosed.
