“I think 2010 provides [small businesses] with a unique opportunity,” said Ann-Marie Harrington. She’s the founder and president of Embolden Inc. in Pawtucket, a Web development and consulting firm for community foundations nationwide and for nonprofits.

“Late 2008 revealed Rhode Island businesses were in for a hard time, and 2009 was a tough year economically. But no matter how you or your small business did, there were lessons to be learned in 2009 that we can capitalize on in 2010.
