Slater invests $350K in Brown prof’s firm

The Slater Technology Fund says it is investing $350,000 in Dynadec, a Providence-based tech startup whose software is designed to let companies make more effective use of data they collect.

Dynadec – short for Dynamic Decision Technologies Inc. – was spun out of Brown University’s Optimization Laboratory in 2007 and is led by Pascal Van Hentenryck, a Brown computer science professor.

Last year, the company launched its marquee product, a business software platform called Comet, that is intended to optimize everything from inventory levels to delivery routes to customer counts.
